Saddam Apologizes to God

And the Kuwaiti people for his abominable actions in the Gulf War.  Of
course, it's not really his fault.  He just couldn't control himself when
he found out the Kuwaitis were in cahoots with the U.S.  He was, after all,
a victim of  a U.S. and Kuwaiti plot.  Sounds like he's had one of
those new fangled Organogenesis' skin grafts.

The Iraqis Are Trying Again

To baffle the UN with bullshit. The weapons declaration Iraq handed over today contains 11,807 pages. It's clear that they are trying to stall the inevitable: a storm of cruise missiles and smart bombs.

I Was Reading
In IEEE Spectrum magazine how a company called Organogenesis' grew human skin for grafts to cover burns, persistent skin ulcers, etc. The report said they used donated infant foreskins from circumcisions to start up the process. If Al Gore had some of this stuff grafted to his face does that make him a DICKHEAD? Nah. He's already one.

This Is The Face
Of a murderer. He's smiling because he is responsible for killing hundreds of people in Bali and he's proud of it.

Murderer, Amrozi, from Java

Osama bin Laden
Has been immortalized as an action figure. Pakistanis are lining up to buy the miniature version of this sack of camel dung. Figures. I'm surprised the web news services haven't picked up on this.

There's A Little Book
Entitled "Bits & Pieces". It's actually a monthly pamphlet filled with paragraph sized words of wisdom gleaned from all over the place. I enjoy reading it every month and look forward to seeing it in my mailbox. The last issue had a section called Have Trust In Yourself and, after reading it, I realized that the three blurbs in that section apply more than ever to our current situation. This is what they had to say:

  •  No one can build his security upon the nobleness of another
    person.

    Attributed to Willa Cather.

What this says is pretty plain.  We can't put our country's
security in the hands of any other nation or world organization.
Having friends and allies is one thing.  Trusting them to come through
when we need them is another.  And the UN is a fiasco.
Pronouncements from Annin and others--the weapons inspectors for
example--about how the Iraqis are cooperating, ad nauseum, are
worthless.  Saddam and his cronies are ruthless, murdering liars.
No matter how much they say they are cooperating, there are weapons of mass
destruction somewhere in Iraq.  We have to destroy both the weapons and
    Saddam Hussein.

  • Let us keep our mouths shut and our pen dry until we know the facts.

    Attributed to Anton J. Carlson

This seems like pretty good advice to the leftist press and some
democrats of high stature.  There's also a lot of blogging that falls
    in this category.

  • Those who are lifting the world upward and onward are those who
    encourage more than criticize.

    Attributed to Elizabeth Harrison.

I can add nothing to this statement.

U.N. Inspectors
Spent a whole 1.5 hours today inspecting one of Saddam's palaces. Considering the size of these places, it probably took them that long to drive from the gate to the front door.

I Don't Like Linking
To someone else's site unless they've got some good stuff. This is definitely in that category.

There's Three Or Four Hundred
Of these still in circulation.

Scary.

I Was Reminded
After my corn trucks in Iraq blog, about a story I heard years decades ago when I was in the Air Force. Seems that in Okinawa, there was a civilian employee who came through the front gate of the air base every day pushing a wheelbarrow filled with sawdust. The Air Police dutifully searched through the sawdust and, finding nothing, let him pass. This continued for quite a while...until the APs found that he was stealing wheelbarrows. I hope Blix and his cadre of inspectors are smarter than the Air Police.

Wonder If They Looked
In the trucks? From the CNN story re the latest "unannounced inspections" in Iraq:

While the inspectors were at the facility, at least a dozen trucks carrying corn arrived and parked outside until they could be allowed in to unload.

The truck drivers said corn is dumped at the facility, dried and stored, and then taken to a factory, where it is processed into animal food. The farmers waited outside the facility for several hours, while the UNMOVIC inspectors finished their work.

Speaking Of Murder And Mayhem
We managed to get the Christmas decorations up without any. Typically I have a minimum of two near apoplectic episodes during this annual event, especially while trying to install hundreds of tiny lamps on tree limbs equipped with needle sharp barbs. But, once again, it's done and now I can look forward to an even better event: taking it all down.
