He May Never Read This

But someone might. It's important that we support the president in a time of crisis.

Dear Mr. President:

It is every American's right to protest but I am appalled by the so-called anti-war demonstrations around the world. More than that, I am deeply hurt that our own countrymen would participate in these fiascoes designed and led by brainless and dishonorable people who, in essence, support Saddam Hussein and his murderous regime.

Any person with a modicum of thought process knows that the situation in Iraq is beyond hope and must be dealt with. And the U.N. as an organization is, for the most part, morally bankrupt and incapable of showing leadership of any type.

As the world's most powerful nation, we have in the past shown remarkable restraint. But even so, we must not surrender to the opinions of countries who have vested interests in preventing us from liberating an oppressed and downtrodden population from a government that kills it's own people on a daily basis, indeed one that possesses weapons of mass destruction and would, with glee, kill thousands of Americans.

Mr. President, it's time to deal with Iraq. Please don't be swayed by the actions of cowards who would have us wait until there is a radioactive cloud wafting across one of our cities before we act. Diplomacy has been tried and has failed. Now is the time for action.

Respectfully,

Wes Whiddon
